Kashf is a mysterious name.

is an Arabic word, connected with Sufism. Basically it means Unveiling, disclosure, and dealing with knowledge of the heart rather than of the intellect. … In Sufism, an even further meaning is light of knowledge of God.

The latest drama Kashf, currently airing on Hum Tv
Is based upon a different and unique idea.

Kashf Bint-e-Imtiaz (Hira Mani), our protagonist here is gifted with a rare ability.

She dreams about future incidents which come true. In a way she sees future in her dreams.
Her sisters make fun of her initially.

The drama begins with a nightmare with Kashf dreaming about her fiancé offering her a fresh rose, with the thorn hurting her finger.

She wakes up with a start and later tells the dream to her sisters, who ridicule her, esp her youngest sister, who secretly is jealous of her.
The nightmare does come true when she goes to visit her grandfather’s grave.

Kashf belongs to a middle class family, whose father Imtiaz (Waseem Abbas) is a wastrel, who only tries to extract money from everyone,
by hook or crook.

They are three sisters and Kashf’s mother is reminded constantly of her failure to produce a son by Kashf’s grandmother and father.

She’s engaged to her first cousin Wajdaan (Junaid Khan) and they’re in love and meet secretly on the terrace, much to his mother’s displeasure as she doesn’t approve of this alliance and keeps insulting Kashf and her mother..

Her mother has to borrow money from everyone to run the household.

Kashf’s paternal aunt lives with them and helps them with her salary as a teacher.
Kashf’s father does nothing and keeps borrowing money from everyone, even tries to steal from his wife.

Wajdaan’s mother wants to break the alliance and keeps looking for excuses.

One night Kashf dreams that Wajdaan’s sister’s wedding will break which after a lot of fights, threats and worries does come true as the groom dies on the way to the venue due to an accident.

Wajdaan’s mother announces the break up in front of everyone.
That night Kashf dreams about Wajdaan and her sister’s wedding.

She wakes up with a jolt.
She’s taken to a seer who advices her to keep her dreams to herself.
On the way back, her aunt is accosted by someone and she remembers a horrible past.

What happens next will be revealed in future episodes of Kashf, playing currently on Hum Tv.

The drama Kashf is directed by Danish Nawaz, written by Imran Nazeer and produced by Momina Duraid.
